DSV PRIVACY POLICY FOR THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

(Customers and End Consumers using DSV XPress or myDSV)

We, DSV, are your data controller of personal data collected and processed in connection with your use of DSV XPress and/or myDSV.

At DSV we are committed to protecting your personal data. Before submitting your personal data, we encourage you to read this privacy policy for the processing of personal data, which will provide you with information on your rights and how we process your personal data at DSV as part of providing our services.

What personal data do we collect and how do we process your personal data?

When you use DSV XPress and/or myDSV, we will process the information you or your contracting party have disclosed to us. We will only ask you to disclose information necessary to fulfill our obligations towards you, which may include the following personal data: name, surname, telephone number, address and email address.

DSV will process your personal data in compliance with applicable legislation. Please be advised that personal data may be processed by virtue of different legal basis such as consent, contract and/or legal obligation.

Why do we collect and process your personal data?

The purpose of our processing of your personal data is to fulfill our obligation under one or more service agreements which you have entered into with DSV or DSV’s customer, assist you with any booking requests or related matters.

Your personal data may also be processed in order to comply with legal requirements or to establish or defend legal claims.

For how long do we store your personal data?

Your personal data is processed for as long as it is necessary in order to fulfil the purposes mentioned above and in accordance with applicable law. Your personal data will be deleted when the purpose for which it was collected and processed no longer exists, unless applicable law require us to keep it for a longer period.

Who do we share your personal data with?

The personal data disclosed in DSV XPress and/or myDSV may be shared with third party providers, such as hauliers, airlines, shipping lines or authorities, if the use of third-party providers is allowed under the service agreement(s) you have entered into with DSV or DSV’s customer. Any third-party provider is an independent data controller.

Your personal data may be shared with certain service providers or agents and IT service providers, who will be required to process your personal data in accordance with DSV’s instructions and to maintain reasonable security.

Further, your personal data may be shared with other DSV group companies, if it is necessary in order to fulfill our obligations towards you in accordance with the purpose mentioned above.

Third party providers and other DSV group companies might be located outside EU/EEA, which might be the case if we are to perform services for you outside EU/EEA. All DSV group companies are bound by binding corporate rules, and all third-party providers will have entered into a transfer agreement based on the EU Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses when require by law, in order to ensure an adequate level of data protection with respect to such transfer outside EU/EEA.

In certain circumstances and according to legislation it may be necessary to disclose data to the authorities. We may also disclose your personal data in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights.

Your rights as an individual

You have the right to:

  • Get your personal data corrected.
  • Under certain circumstance get your information deleted.
  • Be informed about the personal data DSV is processing about you.
  • Object to the processing of your personal data.
  • Under certain circumstances restrict the processing of your personal data.
  • Request your personal data transmitted to another data controller.

Any consent that you may have provided during the process may be withdrawn at any time: simply contact us using the contact details provided below.

Please be aware, if you exercise your right to object, limit or delete your personal data, or withdraw your consent, it might prevent us from performing our obligation towards you, because we will no longer have the necessary personal data.

Notification tool

When you place an order in DSV XPress and/or myDSV you have the option to use a notification tool to inform relevant stakeholders about your shipment. If you use the notification tool, information about your shipment, including the personal data herein, is thus transferred to the third parties you have inserted. By using the notification tool, you guarantee that the recipient(s) inserted has a legitimate interest in receiving the information, including the personal data, about the shipment. Further, you guarantee only to transfer the personal data to third parties with adequate protection of personal data, and you will inform the individual about your processing in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation.
